Not every hard day calls for the same thing. Some moments want words — a devotion, a line of Scripture. Others want silence, prayer, or thirty seconds of quiet before a meeting. Dear Friends treats those as different needs, rather than funneling everyone toward the same meditation library.

Content Universe
Different days need different kinds of support.
Some days call for words. Others call for quiet. Dear Friends splits its content into four places — Devotions, Meditations, Music & Nature, Sleep — instead of pouring everything into one meditation library and asking people to sort it out themselves.
Each type keeps its own space, but the app doesn’t treat them as separate products. A devotion can lead into a meditation. A meditation can end with music still playing underneath.
Devotions
Stories, Scripture, prayer and reflection — organized into themes like Peace & Comfort, Healing & Restoration and Surrender & Trust, for the moments that call for clarity or comfort.
Meditations
Guided practices built around breath, awareness and stillness — held in God’s presence rather than offered as a neutral wellness exercise.
Music & Nature
Instrumental music and natural soundscapes for prayer, focus or rest — on their own, or running quietly underneath a devotion or meditation.
Sleep
Evening prayer, Scripture, stories and reflective audio for winding down at the end of the day.

The Challenge
Different moments need different kinds of support.
Dear Friends isn’t organized around one kind of meditation or one type of audio. Prayer, Scripture, meditations, devotions, reflection, music, nature and sleep all have to sit together — without turning into a library someone has to dig through.
A large content experience still needs to feel personal.
Someone opening the app might be anxious, overwhelmed, lonely, or just looking for quiet. The product needed to meet them where they were, not expect them to already know which session to search for.
Audio is only part of the journey.
A session can leave someone with something worth thinking about or writing down — the experience couldn’t just stop when the audio did.
Content needs to keep moving behind the app.
Devotions, meditations and audio need somewhere to be managed so new content doesn’t require a mobile release every time.
Our Solution
Start with the moment, not the menu.
We built the Dear Friends experience around how someone actually shows up — with a mood, not a menu. Someone can start from a feeling or theme, find something that fits, listen, and then decide whether to save it, sit with it, or come back to it later.
The native apps carry that day-to-day experience. The website introduces the product, and the admin platform keeps the content behind both moving.

Audio is central to Dear Friends, so the player doesn’t need to compete for attention. It gives users the controls they need and then gets out of the way of the meditation, devotion, music or sleep session they’re listening to.

Finding relevant content
A user may know what they are going through without knowing which piece of content will help.
Entry points are organized around moods and themes instead of titles, so someone can start from what they’re going through rather than needing to already know what to search for.
Extending the experience beyond audio
Listening alone does not capture everything that can happen during a reflective session.
Read & Reflect ties supported sessions to journaling and saved reflections, so there’s somewhere for a session to go after the audio ends.
Supporting a growing content library
A content product needs to evolve without every editorial change becoming a mobile release.
The admin platform gives the Dear Friends team a structured way to manage content behind the app, so mobile releases can stay focused on product changes rather than content updates.
